What “Confidence” Looks Like from “The School of Life”

Posted by

Many thanks to one of my  family doctor student for turning me on to  “The School of Life”,  a website from the U.K. devoted to “emotional intelligence”.  They run a series of podcasts by philosopher Alain de Botton, author of “Why You Will Marry the Wrong  Person”. (See post from May 30).  This particular podcast contains some wise reflections on what contributes to the building of personal confidence. He cites, among other things,   the value of respectful disobedience, daring to think for ourselves, and the importance of making mistakes and forgiving ourselves for it. Enjoy.
